Grid Movement and dice rolls - Post 3

So I didn't have a solid idea for what to do with the grid in the middle of the board. I'm a very visual person and I put that grid there because originally I thought it would be some type of turn counter, so for every turn you would count forward and if you got to the end without defeating the orbs, you would lose.
But as I was playing it like that and testing, it felt boring and I often forgot to move the piece. Then I had a sorta neat idea. What if the piece and move independently anywhere in that box and there are set spots and do something interesting for the player. Maybe at the very top of the board there is a +1 to every dice roll, which could help in some situations, or hurt in others, maybe on the sides there is a -1 to every dice roll or something else that could modify the game. I think the coolest idea I had though was at the bottom the only way to end the game, while you can get the orb to a health of 1, you can't get them lower than that, unless you roll the dice and land on the spot that ends the game, while their health is also 1. This could create situations where it could take multiple stressful turns because you could roll added health for the orbs trying to roll the number to move to the spot. Plus there is the play between moving between the modifications.
idk, just an idea I had and wanted to write it down here more then anything. It's kinda weird to me creating a board game, normally when I make video games I can create the idea and test it out sorta quickly, but with a board game it seems like a lot more thinking and planning... idk :P
